Teaching is awesome/exhausting.
Problems don't go away, even if you leave the country for a week. There are still tests to grade, reports to write, electives to plan, and classes to teach every day. I'm still not going to get much sleep the next few nights.
But I had a wonderful week in the US. Yes. And I got hugs as soon as I walked through the door this morning and helped a child after school talk through a problem, and that makes it all worth it.
PS. I even managed to incorporate this song into a lesson today.

It's funny how possessive you get about your kids. It's all about investing your life in others and seeing them with an eternal perspective.
