How'd this get in my iTunes?

I ask myself this question several times a week. After so many burned CDs and iTunes free downloads, I've come to expect the surprise that I own an exceptionally awesome (or terrible) song. This morning I put on the party shuffle thingy, which I usually don't do because if mixes in podcasts and Adventures in Odyssey episodes, but on it went and I went about my merry business making coffee. The I heard a nice guitar ref and the lyrics " Life could you be a little softer to me..." Interest sparked, I discovered it was a Relient K song called "Softer to Me" from an album called "The Creepy," at least as it was recorded in my library. No other songs in said album, I quickly searched the internet for information pertaining to how this song could have ended up in my library. I really like the lyrics... they're surprisingly refreshing and honest.

What is even more interesting is that this song, at least as it is for sale on iTunes, was originally from their first album 2000 and was recorded fast and punky but the version I have is slow and deeply soothing. So that's my interesting thought for the morning. On to more academic things...

Where am I!? Where are you?
There's so much time so little to do.
We're busy doing nothing cause it's vanity we prize.
You can't see nothing cause you can't see through your eyes.
They're covered with a film, you're blinded by yourself.
You're the one to blame but you pretend it's someone else.

Life could you be a little softer to me?
Life could you be more gentle to me?
Softer (softer)
Softer to me

I'm still alive, that much is true.
I've never lied, well, I guess I've told a few.
There's nothing to see because I brought nothing to show.
The conversation got too deep, I shrug and tell you I don't know.
This life can get so hard, this world can be so cruel,
Sometimes I fall apart I feel just like a useless tool.

Life could you be a little softer to me?
Life could you be more gentle to me?
Yeah I know this is a selfish plea,
Because Christ sacrificed
His flesh on the cross for me
But this world is hard,
It's cruel and I wish it could be...
Softer (softer)
Softer to me

Oh I've known about them for years. This song just threw me off because it's not the version on the album. That was is fast and this one is pretty mellow. Good stuff
